Question: How do you embroider on dark clothes?

How do you transfer an image to dark fabric for embroidery?

Cut out a piece of carbon tracing paper about the same size as your design. Choose a colour that contrasts with your fabric. I’ve chosen red, but if you have black fabric, white carbon paper is available. Place the coloured side of the carbon paper facing down and then pin the tissue paper with the design on top.

Do you mirror image for dark transfer paper?

The design on the back of the Dark Transfers is printed in BLUE. You should print on the other (blank) side of the transfer. Your image does not need to be mirrored.

Can you embroider without stabilizer?

Stabilizers are essential for keeping your fabric taut as you embroider. They also provide the support that holds your material in place. But you can also embroider without a stabilizer! You can use other alternatives like coffee filters, fabric substitutes, and more.
