What kind of thread do you use for embroidery bobbin?
You will always want to use a lightweight polyester bobbin thread, such as BobbinFil or any other 60-70 weight thread. You can use whatever color you want, but you don’t need to change color to match the top thread. Your bobbin thread should not show through the top layer of stitching.
What weight is OESD bobbin thread?
This is a 60 weight thread which means it is very light weight. Because it is polyester, it is very strong. If you were to wind a full bobbin of this thread, it would go a long way. When I upgraded to my Bernina, it used a different type of bobbin thread from OESD.
What is the purpose of bobbin thread?
In general, the bobbin is the thing that feeds the thread to stitch from the lower part of the machine. Its purpose is to hold the thread below the needle, and it is where the thread in which you stitch comes from.
